Locally sourced, B-Corp, minority-owned accessories and artisan decor

We've settled into our Belltown studio over several years and since we recently refreshed our furniture, it was time for an accessories update as well. We knew we wanted to source pieces from local and minority-owned makers while leaning into the sophisticated and playful tone already set in the studio (evidence here and here).

Person walking in objekts Studio with white walls, wooden cabinets, and shelves displaying colorful art pieces; sunlight streams in.

After research and many inquiries, we landed on several pieces that hit our marks for budget, timeline (we were prepping for a party!), and design vision.

  • The Deep Blue Vase by Hop & Jans Studio brings lively color into the lineup, and the geometric shape allows for light and shadow play under our skylights.

  • Three Little Housebirds from Five Ply Design weave in the warmth of walnut with a nod to our nearby Meeting Room aviary.

  • Block Design's jug, vase, and bowl carry color through the display and cast fabulous shadows throughout the day.

  • Our vintage, leather "Running Man" from Orcas Paley adds a patina to the clean, white display along with an opportunity to play with his posing.

Of course, we took this refresh as an invitation to add to our library. Books came from two of our local favorites - Elliot Bay Book Company and Woodland Mod. On our reading list:

  • A Century of Color in Design by David Harrison

  • Places to Go, People to See from Kate Spade

  • Accidentally Wes Anderson by Amanda Koval and Wally Koval

  • No Idea is Final from The Talks

  • The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin

  • Danish Textile Prints by Kirsten Toftegaard

  • Zaytinya by Jose Andres

  • Interaction of Color by Josef Albers
